The Baja. What a place to be. Photos can not do this environment justice. Its so big, so blue and so different at every turn in the road. It should all be a World Heritage Park.
We raced to meet the ferry at Mazatlan for the five o’clock sailing to La Paz and arrived with half an hour to spare. While sitting on the side of the street with the map out trying to find the ferry terminal a police man on his motorbike rode up and asked if all was ok. Before we knew it we had a police escort right to the terminal. Yet again the hospitality of people is astounding. Through the army checkpoint and bike search and we were on the ferry ready to sail. Five o’clock came and passed and we didn’t end up sailing till seven. Seven o’clock the next morning and we arrived at La Paz on the Baja.
Amazing coast line, barren hills and productive interior all make up the Baja. Strange cacti, some of the largest in the world and the only place you can find the Dr Seuss type Boojam tree. With the desert coming into flower and the sun shining it was a great place to sit on the rocks and contemplate the journey so far.
For a full loop of the Baja Peninsular I will let the many pictures tell the story.

Great photo of a possible military checkpoint ahead. The caricature looks like something that fell out of South Park! If that sign was in Nevada it would have a couple shot gun blasts through it.
You should be crossing into the States soon. Still welcome in Reno. “Bubbles stayed here” It must be good!

Hi Ken. The site did not load the photos correct. Have added the ones that it missed and it will explain the check point. We are at Scott and Joanne's at the moment while the bike is in for a service. Scott is going to ring you. We are doing a loop south and east due to the weather and will be back here in a couple of weeks time so will look forward to a catch up if it suits you ok. Many thanks for the invite.
